What is VEW Transfers?
VEW Transfers is a secure file transfer portal for VEW Studio. It lets employees share large video files, project assets, and documents with clients — without using WeTransfer, Google Drive, or email attachments. Files go directly from your browser to secure cloud storage.

Create upload or download links for clients. Links can be open or OTP-protected. Files are organised in a folder tree.

How files are kept secure
• Files are stored in private Cloudflare R2 cloud storage — not on any public web server
• Download URLs are temporary (1 hour) and signed — they can't be shared or reused
• OTP-protected links require email verification before access — sessions last 2 hours
• All access is logged in the audit trail (admin can see everything)
• Files are never emailed — only secure links are emailed
Common tasks for employees
📤 Sending files to a client (e.g. final edit, EDLs, proxies)
1. Select or create the relevant Workspace (e.g. "GPSM Project")
2. Click My Files tab → Upload Files
3. In the folder tree, select an existing folder or create a new one (click ▼ to expand, + new folder inside… to create)
4. Click + Files or + Folder — you can click + Folder multiple times to add multiple folders at once
5. Upload your files — progress is shown per file. Click ⬆ Upload more files to add another batch
6. Click 🔒 on a file or folder → fill in client email → click Generate & Notify
7. The client gets an email with a link — they verify their email via OTP and download Tip: Sharing a folder creates a live link — new files added to that folder later will appear automatically for the client
📥 Receiving files from a client (e.g. camera rushes, raw footage)
1. Click + New Link → set type to Upload only
2. Add the client's email in Access control (so only they can upload)
3. Set an expiry (e.g. 7 days)
4. Copy the ⬆ Upload URL and send it to the client
5. Client opens the link, verifies their email via OTP, then uploads — they can create folders and subfolders
6. You'll get an email notification when files arrive
7. Open the link's 📁 Files button to see files in a folder tree — bulk select, download, move or delete Tip: Client's session lasts 2 hours — after that they re-verify. They can sign out early using the Sign out button
🗂 Managing files with the folder tree
• Click ▶ to expand a folder, ▼ to collapse
• + new folder inside "X" creates a subfolder at that level
• + new root folder creates a top-level folder
• 📂 on a folder row moves the entire folder (and all contents) to another location or workspace
• Check the ☐ checkbox on files/folders to select them — a bulk action bar appears at the top
• Bulk bar: 📂 Move opens the move modal, 🗑 Delete deletes all selected, ✕ clears selection
• Move modal lets you pick a destination workspace and navigate the folder tree to choose where to move Empty folders are stored locally in your browser and shown in the tree even before uploading files into them
👥 Collaborating with another employee
1. Create a Workspace for the project
2. Click the 👥 icon on the workspace card
3. Add the colleague's email — they must already be in the allowed emails list
4. They'll now see the workspace and all its links and files in their dashboard Files can be moved between workspaces using the 📂 Move button — pick the destination workspace in the move modal
What clients experience
📥 Receiving files from VEW Studio
1. Client receives an email from VEW Studio with a secure link
2. They click the link → enter their email address → receive a 6-digit OTP code
3. Enter the code → files appear in a folder tree with individual download buttons
4. Download individual files, per-folder (⬇ All), or everything as ZIP
5. On Chrome/Edge: folder structure is preserved when downloading all. On Safari: files download one by one
6. If the link is a 📡 Live folder — new files added by VEW Studio will automatically appear without needing a new link The link can only be accessed by the email addresses specifically added — nobody else can download
📤 Uploading footage to VEW Studio
1. Client receives an upload link from VEW Studio
2. Enter email → receive 6-digit OTP code → verify (session lasts 2 hours)
3. Optionally select or create a folder to organise uploads — subfolders supported
4. Optionally enter a package/project name
5. Drop files or click + Files / + Folder — click + Folder multiple times to add multiple folders
6. Click Upload all files — progress shown per file
7. After upload click ⬆ Upload more files to keep uploading in the same session
8. All uploads are listed below in a folder tree — files can be deleted before VEW Studio downloads them
9. Use Sign out / Switch account to clear your session early Large files go directly to cloud storage — not through email or a slow server. No size limit.
What clients don't need: No account, no login, no app to install. Just an email address and the link shared by VEW Studio.
